Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. Her family was raised on an estate in South London council estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. She went to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an BA in acting. Madekwe was chosen to play Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for two weeks on The CW and then it ended. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. Madekwe was a regular on the drama series of Revenge on ABC in two episodes. The show was announced in May 2013 that she was set to quit the show after completing a guest episode in the first season of the third. Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, comes from an extensive Hamilton family. She was crowned the top soloist awards at all of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
